ABOUT THE PROJECT
Cashew Stadstuinieren (formerly “Cashew”) is a bi-monthly magazine about growing your own vegetables, fruit and herbs. Inspiring tips for the urban gardener. A magazine for indoor, balcony, roof, terrace or normal gardens. Practical tips for the novice urban gardener and inspirational articles for the seasoned city farmer. Information about unusual vegetables, great recipes, the latest trendy news, wild farming and great neighborhood initiatives.
Our work with Cashew Stadstuinieren started with an interview about our living setup. We were living and working in the city of Haarlem, the Netherlands at that time, and our living setup included several kitchen gardens and 3 chickens. Haarlem is not known for its grand gardens, and neither is the rest of Holland. Quite the opposite actually, so it was rather unusual to see two people setting up their entire garden space as a kitchen garden, including a backup rooftop garden.
This initial contact led to us writing content for a winter issue, including layout work. It has progressed to several recurring articles accompanied by photography and illustrations.
In addition to webdesign we are also passionate about graphic design. Graphic design for us encapsulates all forms of styled visual communication and includes the design and/or layout of logos, promotional material, newsletters, magazine or newspaper advertisements, CD, DVD and/or book covers. We are specialised in putting your ideas and ambitions into visual form and effectively promoting and communicating your message to your target audience.
We have a background in print media and can supply you with the designs for all your promotional material. From advertisement design, flyers and brochures, corporate identity materials, event posters to CD and DVD covers. The designs can be directly supplied to your printing company.
