OUR WORK: HOLLAND – THE LIVING DELTA
ABOUT OUR WORK
The collaboration between Doets Design and EMS FILMS dates back to 2008 when we were involved with a film program for Greenpeace International about the fishing industry. Since then the relationship has flourished, working together on hugely successful projects like The New Wilderness and Following Van Gogh. The Holland – The Living Delta project was very similar to that of The New Wilderness, in that it needed a website setup which could easily be adapted to suit different functions depending on where the project was in its development. In the beginning the Holland film website is focussed on providing the audience with general information, giving people the chance to follow the filmcrew as they try to get the right pictures for the film. At a later stage the website setup takes on the role of fundraising tool and presenter of an educational project.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
“About a thousand years ago humans began to play their part. Throughout the centuries we managed to impose more and more water regulations. Dutch culture has been shaped by water struggles. Nature is no longer considered our enemy, and we look for a way to harness its immense creative power to restore balance.” Read more about Holland - The Living Delta
The story is about rediscovering The Netherlands. It’s an international showcase of the Dutch identity: nature makers and water managers. After the overwhelming success of ‘The New Wilderness’, the people behind the movie started working on the second part of the trilogy: ‘Holland – The Living Delta’. This film will premiere in September 2015. The film is not ‘The New Jungle Part 2’ but is a nature film. The story of the film is told from a cultural-historical context from the perspective of main characters such as the bald eagle, beaver, hare, large blue and stickleback.
